Autism Capital, a prominent voice in the crypto community, has called for Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin to return to Twitter (referred to as “X” in the conversation) rather than isolating himself on a decentralized platform. They argue that engaging with a larger community on Twitter would allow Buterin to have a greater influence and impact on the culture war surrounding Ethereum.
The ‘Riff Raffs’ On Twitter
Autism Capital, Citizen journalism with a humorous flair, has called for Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin to return to Twitter (referred to as “X” in the conversation) rather than isolating himself on a decentralized platform. They argue that engaging with a larger community on Twitter would allow Buterin to have a greater influence and impact on the culture war surrounding Ethereum.
Elon Musk also chimed in, questioning why Buterin left Twitter in the first place. Autism Capital responded, stating that Buterin felt the quality of discourse on the decentralized platform Farcaster was higher and better suited to his needs. Buterin reportedly wanted to have discussions with his chosen peers, including Ethereum developers, systems builders, app developers, philosophers, and longevity advocates, without being bothered by what he perceived as “the riff raff” on Twitter.
Like-Monded Individuals
However, Autism Capital disagrees with Buterin’s decision, arguing that as a leader, he should be actively engaging with the broader community on Twitter, despite the presence of trolls and spam bots. They view Buterin’s retreat to Farcaster and his concept of starting a “network state” called Zuzalu with his chosen peers as a form of elitism that contradicts his vision of decentralization.
While Buterin may argue that he wants to decentralize himself away from the Ethereum community to make it more resilient, Autism Capital believes he simply wants to avoid dealing with the public and only engage with like-minded individuals.
A Leader from The Front
They wrote:
“We feel that as a leader, Vitalik should be here, in the trenches, engaging his audience and being active with his community. He should accept the riff raff which comes with being a public figure and continue being a leader from the front without hiding away with his friends somewhere else.”
Autism Capital believes that Buterin should continue being a leader from the front and accept the challenges that come with being a public figure, rather than isolating himself with his peers on a separate platform. They view his actions as contrary to the principles of decentralization and as a form of elitism.
